Giving Report February 2015

Your Donations at Work February 2015

During the fourth quarter of 2014, $32,767 was given to assist at-risk children and young adults who have “aged out” of the foster care system in Volusia, Seminole, Orange and Osceola Counties. Details are listed below, but first we want to let you know how your donations positively impact the youth in our community and particularly the following young person:

It always feels good to hear directly from a young person who wants to share how she’s been working hard to make her life better. For Amanda — and most at-risk youth — it’s been extremely difficult to overcome a life of abuse, find the courage to move forward and be able to totally support herself since reaching age 18 and aging out of the foster care system. But Amanda has taken advantage of the support and programs available to her and is definitely on the right track and we know you’ll enjoy reading the following note she sent to us.

“I want to say thank you first and foremost for the opportunity you have provided for me. I qualified for $1,000 of WingsNet assistance through my academic achievements. With that money, I was able to pay off school debts, purchase clothing for work and open a savings account. I work part-time, live alone, have my own car and am continuing my education. Being blessed and motivated by WingsNet has taken stress off my shoulders and kept me on the path to greatness. I couldn’t have done it without you.”

God bless Amanda for her hard work – and God bless you for making a difference!
